PANS/PANDAS Parent Support

Parent Support

Receiving a PANS/PANDAS diagnosis can feel overwhelming. Many parents describe feeling lost, without a roadmap, and unsure where to turn next.

Although PANS/PANDAS is considered rare, part of that perception stems from a lack of awareness, education, and provider training—leaving families to navigate an incredibly complex system on their own.

This service is designed for parents who are seeking expert, specialized support in PANS/PANDAS. I work collaboratively with parents— and with the child’s treating therapist when requested—to help identify next steps in care and to provide clarity, structure, and direction.

Some families find one consultation session sufficient to get organized with tools and resources as they navigate the complex systems surrounding PANS and PANDAS-related OCD; others prefer more frequent sessions throughout treatment. Parents are welcome to include their treating therapist in the session as well on Zoom.

Non-Clinical Parent Coaching Includes:

General education about PANS/PANDAS concepts, specific to my scope of practice as an intensively trained pediatric OCD therapist

Assistance with identifying and connecting to qualified medical or mental health provider

Consultation regarding school supports, IEP/504 planning, and advocacy

Guidance on navigating multidisciplinary systems of care

Help with prepping for medical appointments, include tips on symptom-tracking

Recommendations for peer support networks, reputable books, podcasts, and clinical resources

Education and general tools related to Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy for OCD and anxiety management

Parental tools & strategies to manage caregiver burden

Fees:

Initial Parent Consultation (90 minutes): $450

Follow-up Sessions (50 minutes): $200

This service is available to residents of both NYS and out of state.

More About Parent Coaching Services
(Non-Clinical and Educational Only)

While I am a licensed mental health therapist, parent coaching and consulting are not mental health treatment, and I do not serve as your or your child’s therapist in this capacity. I am licensed in NYS as a Mental Health Counselor, but coaching services are non-clinical and not provided under my NYS license. My coaching services provide general education, guidance, and system-navigation support for parents of children with OCD, PANS, or PANDAS. Coaching focuses on helping parents understand the landscape of mental health, medical, and school systems and how to advocate effectively. Coaching is not psychotherapy, does not include assessment, diagnosis, treatment, or clinical recommendations, and is not a substitute for mental health or medical care. Coaching does not establish a therapist–client relationship and is not considered mental health care.

Looking for expert guidance at your own pace? The Parent’s Guide to PANS/PANDAS can help.

Many parents share after their first session that they wish they had known everything we discussed in session one sooner.Feeling lost without a clear roadmap is common, so I created a 65-page, parent-friendly guide for navigating PANS/PANDAS. Originally developed as a detailed, research-based CE course for mental health professionals in NYS, this guide has been adapted to give parents in crisis all of the crucial initial information that they need to know into one consolidated guide.

This guide includes information about symptoms and science of PANS/PANDAS, including how it affects the brain; pathways of navigating treatment options across medical, mental health, and school systems; and practical resources for supporting yourself.

It was designed to help parents feel informed, empowered, and less alone on this journey.

This guide is valuable not only for caregivers, but also for school personnel and mental health professionals seeking a deeper understanding of PANS/PANDAS.

All parents who book a coaching call will receive a copy of the guide included in their coaching fee.
